Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker will work closely with the management team to support our store operations and business departments by maintaining and repairing convenience store equipment and fuel systems, monitoring systems, and performing preventative and general maintenance activities necessary to extend the life of store equipment and minimize facility downtime safely and cost-effectively.
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Perform routine maintenance on fueling equipment and building systems.
- Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facilities.
- Grounds maintenance: including snow removal using a plow or skid-steer, mowing, weed spraying, and sprinkler system maintenance.
- Perform the duties safely and sensibly, following all company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Physical Demands
- Continuously – 66-100% - Use hands dexterously, talk or hear.
- Frequently – 34-65% - Stand, walk, sit, stoop/kneel/crouch, or crawl, climb.
- Occasionally – 1-33% - Reach with hands and arms, or balance, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Education And Experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean record.
- 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Technician in the convenience store, retail, or similar industry.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of general maintenance and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and conditions.
Preferences
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with A/C, Refrigeration, fueling equipment, and car wash maintenance and repair. Certification or specialized training in A/C, refrigeration, fueling equipment, or other relevant areas is a plus.
- Knowledge of UST laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, with the ability to become class B or C certified.
- Customer service experience.
- Forklift and skid-steer experience.
- Willingness to grow and obtain additional relevant knowledge or training.
