Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a contract role based in Bessemer, AL. The position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and optimizing conveyors, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems within a fast-paced distribution center.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations teams to improve equipment reliability. Work hours are 4:30 am–2:30 pm, Monday to Friday, onsite.

Qualifications

• Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, sensors and automated material handling systems.
• 2+ years repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems and controls.
• 2+ years performing predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 1+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 1+ years knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, inspect and repair conveyor systems and material handling equipment, and maintain accurate maintenance records. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues quickly. Candidates should be capable of working independently, following safety procedures, and collaborating with operations teams to improve equipment reliability and overall facility performance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
