Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking a Maintenance Tech, Level II. This is an ideal position for a mid-level professional with specialized expertise in facilities maintenance who enjoys applying their skills in a team-based, mission-focused environment
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Maintenance Technician II is part of the facilities department and reports to the Maintenance Manager. The goal of the maintenance team is to ensure safe and welcoming campuses for Skyland Trail staff, clients, and visitors. The Maintenance Tech II assists with the maintenance of buildings, grounds, building-related systems, and environmental services by applying hands-on skills and expertise or by collaborating with specialized contractors.
Examples of work orders completed by the maintenance technician include preventive maintenance schedules, routine plumbing, minor equipment malfunctions, room temperature adjustments, minor structural repairs like patching holes, changing filters and light bulbs, receptacle and circuit breaker repairs, and replacing ceiling tiles. The Maintenance Tech is part of a pool of facilities employees who respond to urgent maintenance concerns outside of business hours and will be on call every other week in the evenings for any emergency requests.

Skyland Trail provides mental health residential and day treatment programs for teens and adults struggling with mental illnesses like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. Though struggling with their mental illness, Skyland Trail patients have entered treatment voluntarily, and clients and their families are engaged in their treatment program. Skyland Trail campuses include gardens, private patient rooms, and common rooms that provide a therapeutic, healing environment for our clients and families.
