Job summary

Automatic Data Processing, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Anderson, IN facility. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on engines, motors, drives, conveyors, feeders and production machines to keep operations running.

Candidates should have hydraulic and pneumatic experience, electrical knowledge (480V AC, 24V DC, 110V), and PLC proficiency. You will diagnose issues, dismantle and repair parts, and maintain inventories and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hydraulic experience required.
• Pneumatic experience required.
• Electrical experience including 480V AC, 24V DC, 110V.
• Proficient with PLCs, touchscreens, and changing values.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on engines, motors, drives, conveyors and production machines.
• Diagnose malfunctions by observing devices and using measuring instruments.
• Remove defective parts and repair or fabricate components.
• Set up and operate machine tools to repair parts and fixtures.
• Install or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment as needed.
• Document actions, irregularities and maintenance cost data.

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing routine and preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, drives, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, feeders, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Duties/Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the calibration of feeders.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools.
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. As well as, recording type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
