Job summary

Katalyst CRO is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine setup, operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of highly automated manufacturing equipment. You will monitor production quality, downtime, and waste, applying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical skills to repair and optimize systems.

The role requires reading schematics and manuals, strong teamwork, and the ability to use calibration techniques with precision instruments.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance, including preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with multiple teams.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word for maintenance documentation.

Reports directly to Engineering Manager or reports to Production Supervisor. Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime and waste levels of machine operation. Perform mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery. Uses judgment and consultation to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery. Must project positive attitude with good team skills. Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives. Make effective decisions relative to position requirements. Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks.

• Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential.
• Constant mental and visual attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerances.

Requirements

• Use of a PC including MS Excel & MSWord.
• Efficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
• Demonstrate hydraulics, pneumatics aptitude.
• Ability to use multimeter.
• Sensor technology.
• Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic).
• Power transmission (gear box, motors, belt and chain drives).
• Electrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC.

Additional Experience Preferred

• Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, vfd, servo etc.).
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems.
• Mechanical design (AutoCad, Solidworks, etc.)
• SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system (welding).
• Basic skills in use of mill, lathe, welding, bearing press.
