Job summary

Pretium Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the night shift (7 pm – 7 am) to lead complex troubleshooting across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience, a strong PLC background, and CMMS proficiency. You will mentor technicians, participate in RCA, and support capital projects while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong PLC knowledge (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Proficient with CMMS software.
• Forklift and aerial lift certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Mentor and support lower-tier technicians with on-the-job training.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, and VFDs.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance with accuracy and efficiency.
• Read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics and manuals.
• Install, repair, and upgrade machinery as part of capital projects.
• Develop and improve maintenance SOPs and equipment documentation.
• Maintain OSHA and safety compliance during maintenance activities.
• Support facility infrastructure including HVAC, compressed air systems, boilers, and water treatment.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and external vendors on repairs and upgrades.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electro-mechanics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, sensors, and automated systems.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including AC/DC circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Proficient with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
• Forklift and aerial lift certified.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Effective communicator with the ability to document tasks clearly and train others.
