Job summary

Plastipak is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Alsip, IL to perform, monitor and improve preventative maintenance on extrusion blow molding lines and support equipment. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting and a commitment to quality and safety.

You will work 3rd shift with overtime and a $1 night differential. Candidates should have a high school diploma/GED, at least three years in manufacturing maintenance, and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and related

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years' experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Graham Wheel, case packers or box machines preferred.
• Solid hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical knowledge with troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work on aerial platforms up to 20 feet.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance for extrusion blow molding and support machinery to assure uninterrupted operations.
• Execute and continually improve preventative maintenance procedures.
• Participate in changeovers, ensuring efficient and correct execution.
• Repair and rebuild spare parts.
• Assure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, operational practices and procedures.
• Expand expertise through formal training and on-the-job experiences, including new equipment installation and equipment modification projects.

You Will

• Perform maintenance for extrusion blow molding and support machinery to assure uninterrupted & optimal operations
• Execute & continuously improve preventative maintenance procedures
• Participate in changeovers, ensuring efficient & correct execution
• Repair & rebuilds spare parts
• Assure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, operational practices & procedures
• Expand your expertise through formal training & on-the-job experiences, including new equipment installation & equipment modification projects

You Have

• Ability to work 3rd shift, along with overtime and vacation coverage as needed. Training is on 1st shift.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with Graham Wheel, case packers, box machines is preferred.
• Solid hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical knowledge, along with the ability to troubleshoot & problem solve
• Ability to interpret technical & operational documents, including manuals, blueprints, schematics
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on aerial platforms up to 20 feet with or without reasonable accommodation

You’ll Earn

• $33-$35 per hour , based on experience
• Night shift includes a shift differential of $1 per hour.
