Job summary

Plastipak is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain, service, and troubleshoot our site equipment within a food-grade facility. You will perform preventive maintenance on auxiliary systems such as chillers, pumps, and air equipment, monitor safety and fire systems, and participate in installation projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of mechanical troubleshooting, basic electrical skills, and the ability to read technical documents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree/technical certs preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on facility equipment (chillers, pumps, water towers, etc).
• Monitor and test fire, access, and emergency lighting systems.
• Perform general grounds maintenance.
• Participate in installation projects and/or equipment modifications.

Job description

As the Facilities Maintenance Technician, you maintain, service, and troubleshoot the site property and auxiliary systems and equipment within our state-of-the-art, food-grade clean facility.

You Will

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on the facility's auxiliary equipment, such as chillers, compressors, pumps, water towers, air dryers, transformers, etc.
• Monitor the fire systems, facilities access systems, and emergency lighting systems (monitoring, inspecting, testing)
• Perform general grounds maintenance
• Participate in installation projects and/or modifications.

You Have

• Ability to work Monday-Friday day shift, 6:45 AM - 3:30 PM
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Associate’s degree &/or technical certifications are preferred.
• Working knowledge of auxiliary industrial support equipment, i.e., chillers, compressors, water towers, air dryers, pumps, etc...
• Fabrication experience is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical troubleshooting, including hydraulics and pneumatics systems
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience
• Ability to interpret technical & operational documents, including manuals, blueprints, schematics
• PLC knowledge is a plus
