Job summary

Valdeseng is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead safe, compliant equipment upkeep in a power plant context. The role focuses on developing repair strategies, scheduling maintenance, and managing budgets while coordinating with operations and engineering teams.

You will train staff in proper maintenance procedures, monitor performance standards, and respond to emergencies, ensuring reliable plant operations and cost discipline.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or related engineering in power plant or similar industrial setting.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Strong technical background in power plant equipment with instrumentation and control.
• Ability to use predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Understanding of maintenance management processes.
• Excellent communication with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Familiar with how mechanical, electrical, and controls relate to equipment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
• US work authorization now and in the future (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment. Inspect job sites and reviews maintenance procedures for hazards.
• Places high priority on environmental equipment and systems maintenance to assure compliance with environmental permits and procedures.
• Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules.
• Informs employees of work performance standards and expectations.
• Develop budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements. Submit initiatives that define the project purpose, scope, estimated cost and benefits. Follow through with implementation of approved projects.
• Control and track department expenses to operate within budget. Forecast expenses on a Monthly basis.
• Responds to emergency calls outside of his or her normal work schedule on a regular basis.
• Trains and evaluates employees in the proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures and practices, and safe work practices.
• Assist operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions. Determine the appropriate maintenance scope and timing of repairs.

• Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or other related Engineering discipline obtained in a Power Plant similar industrial process or military service
• Understands and committed to maintaining safe work practices
• Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment and systems and operations with instrument and control background
• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices
• Able to effectively manage several projects at one time
• Understanding of the elements of the maintenance management process
• Able to effectively communicate through a variety of media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
• Familiar with other maintenance disciplines and understands the relationship between equipment mechanical, electrical, and controls
• Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

• Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices
