Job summary

Klöckner & Co SE is seeking a Maintenance Technician in the Paton Township, IA area to coordinate preventive maintenance and manage internal breakdowns across production equipment, including lasers and CNC mills. You will work with OEMs to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role requires a strong mechanical background, knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines, plus the ability to lift heavy components and work outdoors in varying

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical background.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience; agricultural or automotive background a plus.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes and diesel engines; transmissions and clutches.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to work without supervision.
• Service shop experience preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy components and work outdoors in all weather.
• Demonstrated reliable work history and independence.
• Ability to pass a physical examination.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and address OEM equipment issues.
• Collaborate with OEM on production equipment including lasers, plasma, press brakes, CNC Mill, and forklifts up to 45,000 lb.
• Identify problem sources by observing equipment and consulting with OEM.
• Perform facility maintenance and coordinate with outside contractors.
• Inform scheduler to control downtime after maintenance.
• Fabricate repair parts with internal engineering and company equipment.
• Maintain OEM-provided spare parts inventory.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns with OEM manufacturers.
• Document work orders and maintenance information in software.
• Keep technical knowledge current by attending workshops and networking with suppliers.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment by following procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by achieving related results.
