Job summary

Pearl River Resort Associates is seeking a Maintenance technician to troubleshoot and repair all kitchen equipment on the property in Choctaw, MS. The role requires reading schematics, following SOPs, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualified candidates have at least 3 years in commercial kitchen equipment maintenance, knowledge of propane systems, and a valid driver’s license. A gaming license is required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years’ experience in repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment (propane stoves, ovens, deep fryers, hot boxes, dish washers).
• Knowledge of troubleshooting propane pressure problems and adjusting regulators.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record (≤2 moving violations in 12 months; no DUI or suspended license in 3 years).
• 21 years of age or above and able to obtain gaming license.

• Trouble shoot and repair motors and motor control systems.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Three (3) years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment, including propane stoves, ovens, deep fryers, hot boxes and dish washing machines is required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of troubleshooting propane pressure problems and adjust regulators and maintain and repair propane pressure problems. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – with two (2) or less moving violations within a 12-month period and no DUI or suspended license within the last 3 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: Safely lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 90% of assigned shift. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Work around hazardous equipment and power tools. Exposed to hazardous chemicals. Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc, may be required at times. May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
