Job summary

Pearl River Resort Associates seeks a maintenance technician to keep the property's mechanical systems running smoothly. You will maintain, repair, and service plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related equipment on site in Choctaw, MS, following safety policies and SOPs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in mechanical or electrical trades, and a valid driver's license. You must be able to lift up to 90 pounds and work in varying weather, with a willingness to work

Responsible for successfully maintaining, and repairing, as needed, all mechanical equipment on the property.

• Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
• Maintains all plumbing, kitchen and HVAC repairs around Resort.
• Monitors work load and advises supervisor of work overload.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area in the Engineering Shop.
• Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
• Replace electrical, switches, outlets and ballasts.
• Preform maintenance walkthroughs.
• Responds to maintenance requests.
• Ensures a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above.

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years construction experience in the mechanical or electrical trades or equivalent is required. Knowledge of basic plumbing system operations and repairs is a preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to operate basic hand and power tools is a safe manner is required. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – with two (2) or less moving violations within a 12-month period and no DUI or suspended license within the last 3 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates and outdoors under extreme conditions. Safely lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 90% of assigned shift. Able to work off of ladders, scaffolds, or lifts up to 100 feet in height and work in confined spaces. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Work around hazardous equipment and power tools. Exposed to hazardous chemicals. Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc, may be required at times. May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
