Responsible for the effective coordination and completion of all carpentry and/or painting responsibilities on property.

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Read and follow architectural construction drawings and details.
  • Compile parts list from drawings.
  • Build items out of wood and metal from drawings.
  • Install or modify existing metal stud and wood stud construction.
  • Install drywall, mud, and tape also.
  • Install new and replace or repair existing Formica surfaces.
  • Repair and replace doors, adjust doors, doorframes, and closures.
  • Build gaming tables and slot bases as required.
  • Operate and maintain all power tools in carpenter shop.
  • Assist in the training of fellow associates in the carpentry trade.
  • Read and follow drawings accurately in order to complete the assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safekeeping of any storage area, control room, operations room or other identified area or frequented to complete the assigned duties and tasks.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Three (3) years’ experience in the carpentry field is required. Including experience working with wood and metal stud framing and the installation of drywall, new and repair of Formica surfaces. Experience in the operation of power tools.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in the installation and finishing of drywall a plus. Must have knowledge of building code, southern building code, or international building code. Knowledge of design and manufacture of storage cabinets, shelves, and work tables. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – with two (2) or less moving violations within a 12-month period and no DUI or suspended license within the last 3 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work in external environments for at least 50% of the assigned shift. Safely lift and/or move up to seventy (70) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand for extended periods of time in excess of 4 hours. Able to work in high places. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Exposed to hazardous chemicals. Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc, may be required at times. May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
