Job summary

Pearl River Resort Associates is seeking a Full-Time, on-site Maintenance role to keep mechanical equipment in excellent working order at the resort property in Louisville, KY. Responsibilities include plumbing, kitchen, and HVAC repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and ensuring safety policies are followed.

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet guests and associates with a smile. Make eye contact and verbally greet guests and associates.
  • Respond to guests needs, and work with a sense of urgency to avoid long wait times.
  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests by exceeding their expectations in providing guest service.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all plumbing, kitchen, and HVAC repairs at Resort properties.
  • Monitor workload and advise supervisor of work overload.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area in the Engineering Shop.
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies and procedures.
  • Replace electrical switches, outlets, and ballasts.
  • Preform maintenance walkthroughs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests.
  • Ensure a maximum level of service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations, and controls of the Resort.
  • Be a positive and productive associate.
  • Must maintain regular attendance schedule.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor and other members of CRDE management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

AGE and GAMING

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years construction experience in the mechanical or electrical trades or equivalent is required. Knowledge of basic plumbing system operations and repairs is a preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to operate basic hand and power tools in a safe manner is required. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record – with no more than two (2) or less moving violations within a 12-month period and no DUI or suspended license within the last 3 years.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates and outdoors under extreme conditions. Safely lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 90% of assigned shift. Able to work off of ladders, scaffolds, or lifts up to 100 feet in height and work in confined spaces. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift. Work around hazardous equipment and power tools. Exposed to hazardous chemicals. Use of personal Protective Equipment such as masks, gloves, shoes, etc, may be required at times. May require working out of doors in inclement weather, and extreme hot or cold conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
