Job summary

Venture Metals + is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to repair and service recycling facility equipment. You will tackle heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, and shredders, install new gear, perform preventive maintenance, and document all repairs.

The role requires reading safety rules and maintenance manuals, and maintaining a valid driver's license. You will troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, perform basic fabrication, and source replacement parts online.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of verifiable experience in industrial troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on heavy equipment.
  • Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance manuals.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, and shredders.
  • Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electronic/electrical systems and perform basic fabrication.
  • Complete work orders and document repairs performed; identify required parts.
  • Source parts/equipment using computers/internet and maintain safety standards in all tasks.
  • Work in various positions and shifts as needed; follow directions from maintenance/operations management.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • This position consists of repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment (this includes heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, shredders, etc.), installing new equipment, and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment to minimize downtime and make improvements.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Sennebogen and caterpillar machine handlers.
  • Perform repair work on systems including hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, mechanical repairs, basic fabrication, preventive maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Complete work orders and keep detailed notes of repairs performed.
  • Identify necessary parts for repairs.
  • Use computers/internet to research and source part/equipment replacements.
  • Work in multiple positions, including but not limited to kneeling, bending, crouching, elevated in lifts, for extended durations.
  • Observe all safety requirements and lead by example in working safely.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
  • Ability to work various shifts if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by maintenance and operations management team.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of verifiable experience related to industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience on heavy equipment or in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities. Able to build consensus.
  • Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.
  • Must have your own basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Valid State Drivers License.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
