Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of building and equipment maintenance tasks in a health care setting. You will troubleshoot complex systems, perform preventive maintenance, and document activities in CMMS.

This role requires adherence to safety standards and strong communication with hospital staff. Qualified candidates have 4+ years of equipment maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Driver's license required.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot complex mechanical/electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform facility and equipment maintenance per codes and standards; document in CMMS.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, pumps, doors, fans, boilers, and other equipment with minimal guidance.
• Service patient care equipment such as beds and wheelchairs when needed.
• Maintain mechanical/electrical systems like HVAC, refrigeration, piping, and medical gas systems.
• Handle emergency response and repairs for leaks, floods, outages, and equipment failures.
• Respond to building occupant requests; communicate status of actions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Inspect and repair fire doors, hardware, and firewalls.
