Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting tasks within the hospital environment. You will respond to calls, document work orders, and ensure safety and cleanliness in work areas.

The role involves basic building repairs, equipment maintenance on chillers, air handlers, and generators, and on-call duties during evenings and weekends. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License may be required.
• 3–5 years in electrician, plumber, HVAC, painter, or related field.
• 3–5 years in a trade under a licensed business.
• Florida license preferred (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, painting).
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• On-call evenings and weekend availability.
• English language reporting and instruction proficiency.
• Ability to follow instructions and solve problems under stress.
• Team-oriented with good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Return work areas to clean, safe condition and dispose waste properly.
• Perform basic building tasks (shelves, desks, frames).
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, patch/paint activities.
• Check lighting, replace bulbs, repair floors and ceilings as needed.
• Repair valves, faucets and wrong washers; fix leaks.
• Respond to maintenance system work orders and emergency plans.
• Enter information into maintenance system; document completed orders.
• Inspect buildings for safety and repair needs.
• Assist in job estimates, schedules, and supplies orders.
• Perform repairs on mechanical equipment (chillers, towers, air handlers, generators).
• Maintain inventory for filters and common maintenance items.
