Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its distribution centers to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment, including PLCs, conveyors, and hydraulics. The role requires reading schematics, following PM standards, and ensuring safety and documentation in the asset management system.

You'll report inventory, train junior technicians, and collaborate with vendors to complete projects in a safe, timely manner. Physical work includes lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a DC or industrial setting.
• Welding, burning, cutting experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, PLCs.
• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems; document work in PM system.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory and daily usage to Maintenance leadership.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians to elevate performance.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects in DCs safely and timely.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs.

Overview

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs
  
  

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
• 3-5 years of experience
• Welding, burning, cutting
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO
• Basic English reading comprehension & numerical reasoning skills.
