Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support production in Lafayette, IN. The role focuses on preventing downtime, diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and performing necessary preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years in related fields, experience with SAP PM is a plus, and strong communication skills. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and operate safely in a high-demand manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Basic reading, writing, and verbal skills.
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems (24DC, 120/277/480AC).
• Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Safety-conscious and adaptable to nonstandard situations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; able to use measurement tools (tape, micrometers, dial calipers).
• Experience with SAP and SAP PM is a plus.
• 1–3 years of related field experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ladder logic knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support production by minimizing equipment downtime and providing prompt responses.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform minor electrical component tasks (sensors, fuses, breakers).
• Follow safety policies and uphold Wabash's Leadership Principles and Values.
• Work on projects individually and with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain a schedule with possible 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts; overtime and weekends required.
• Assignments in the Duraplate division may require 12-hour shifts and varied scheduling.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
