Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Tech 2 to perform skilled industrial maintenance supporting production equipment and facility systems. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, interpret schematics, read ladder logic, use testing tools, and perform preventive maintenance to keep plant operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Industrial maintenance experience or equivalent demonstrated technical capability required.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission components.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use electrical meters, measurement instruments, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to organize work, prioritize multiple equipment issues, and complete assignments with limited supervision.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to document maintenance activities electronically.
• Basic reading, writing, verbal communication, and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial production equipment and related systems.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs involving bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, drive systems, pumps, motors, shafts, couplings, and other production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, regulators, actuators, and associated controls.
• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Safely use electrical meters, diagnostic equipment, precision measurement instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities and identify equipment conditions requiring corrective action before failure.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and on time using SAP PM (Plant Maintenance).
• Determine appropriate repair methods and identify the parts, tools, materials, and resources needed to complete assigned work.
• Support equipment installation, modification, improvement, and commissioning activities.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, equipment conditions, parts used, downtime causes, and follow-up work required.
• Follow established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine guarding, safe lifting practices, and required PPE.
• Respond to production equipment breakdowns with urgency while maintaining safe work practices and quality workmanship.
• Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and operational risks effectively with Maintenance and Operations leadership.
• Assist Maintenance Tech 1 employees with troubleshooting, repair techniques, and safe maintenance practices when needed.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, work areas, and spare parts in a clean and organized condition.
• Multitask and adjust priorities based on safety, equipment condition, and production needs.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
