Job summary

Wabash National Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the 3rd shift in Lafayette, Indiana. You will support production by reducing downtime, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams, follow safety protocols, and may cover 12-hour shifts including weekends. Preferred candidates have 1–3 years of related experience, basic reading/writing, and familiarity with SAP/PM.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills.
• Prior experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems (24DC, 120/277/480AC).
• Ability to work individually and cross-functionally.
• Capable of responding quickly to changing conditions while staying safe.
• Good measurement skills with tape measures, micrometers, dial calipers.

Responsibilities

• Support production by minimizing equipment downtime and providing prompt response times.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Perform minor tasks on electrical components such as sensors, fuses, and breakers.
• Follow safety policies and Wabash Leadership Principles and Values.
• Work on projects individually or with a cross-functional team.
• Maintain 12-hour shift coverage as required, including weekends and overtime.
