Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production in Lafayette, IN. The role involves maintaining mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and using tools to diagnose issues, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will work 8 hours per day with overtime and weekends, and shifts vary. Excellent communication and a willingness to learn are essential. SAP/PM experience is a plus in this manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills.
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems (24DC, 120/277/480AC).
• Ability to work on projects individually and cross-functionally.
• Capable of rapid adaptation to changing, nonstandard situations while staying safety-conscious.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools (power and hand); able to take precise measurements.
• Experience with SAP and SAP PM is a plus.
• 1-3 years' experience in related field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of ladder logic.
• Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Support production by minimizing equipment downtime with prompt response times.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform minor electrical component tasks (sensors, fuses, breakers).
• Follow safety policies and Leadership Principles and Values.
• The Maintenance Technician I position is expected to work 8 hours/day, including mandatory overtime and weekends.
• Ability to work on projects both individually and with a cross-functional team.
• Hours for this position vary based on the shift assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.
