Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, repair and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and building systems. You will inspect, dismantle, repair and reassemble machinery, and service safety, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and control systems.

Responsibilities include responding to maintenance calls, recording inspections, coordinating with colleagues, and assisting with complex repairs. Strong focus on safety and reliable operation of facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; additional education and/or training required.
• 3 years of related maintenance experience.
• Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent). Understanding of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• Knowledge of safe practices in daily operations and effective maintenance and repair services for physical premises.
• Knowledge of adapting to changing environments and applying problem-solving approaches.
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness and response tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of and ability to communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff per values of Jefferson.
• Performs repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems.
• Maintains records of inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed.
• Maintain and repair distribution systems involving vacuum, medical air, medical gas systems and air compressors.
• Maintain and repair pneumatic equipment in engine rooms and associated piping.
• Make checks of all mechanical area equipment.
• Handle maintenance calls from the main office.
• Assist other trade maintenance technicians with more complicated repairs as needed.
