Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of a broad range of mechanical equipment for safety, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and control systems.

The role requires 3 years of related experience, journeyman level skills, and a strong emphasis on safety and reliable operation in a hospital environment. Work involves varied shifts and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related maintenance experience.
• Journeyman Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safety practices and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Performs urgent, corrective, routine, preventative, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Maintains records of inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed.
• Maintains distribution systems involving vacuum, medical air, medical gas systems and air compressors.
• Maintains pneumatic equipment located in engine rooms (hot water converter, thermostats, induction units, sump pumps, and related piping).
• Checks all mechanical area equipment.
• Handles maintenance calls from the main office.
• Assists other trade maintenance technicians with more complicated repairs.
