Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Maintenance Tech to support Lab Ops, coordinating routine and major maintenance shutdowns and optimizing downtime across lab equipment.

The role requires an associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, 3+ years in highly automated manufacturing, and strong CMMS and schematic-reading skills. Flex hours and overtime may be required, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing, lean manufacturing/continuous flow operations.
• Proficiency in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
• Demonstrated ability for independent decision-making.
• Flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
• Ability to overcome obstacles and complete assignments with organization.
• Proactive problem solving and ability to lead resolution of lab equipment problems.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested.
• Ability to work up to 10 hours seated, walking or standing.

Responsibilities

• Organizes work materials, writes work instructions, specifies safety needs, and optimizes the use of maintenance labor.
• Identifies and procures parts and materials for planned and PM work orders.
• Writes purchase requests for repair and replacement parts and contract services.
• Prioritizes maintenance activity for assigned lab areas with production schedules.
• Estimates labor requirements for all planned and preventive maintenance work orders.
• Conducts weekly meetings with Operations, Technical, and Maintenance teams.
• Ensures weekend/downtime activities are coordinated.
• Creates or updates PMs in Megamation as needed.
• Schedules maintenance with contractors for Preventative Maintenance.
• Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as directed.
