Job summary

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. in Round Lake, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to provide hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting for the Galaxy filling process and equipment throughout the Mix, Fill, and Finishing complexes.

Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to keep production lines safe and efficient; perform PMs, repair mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, and document work orders using JDE CMMS. This role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years related experience, or associate degree or higher with 1+ year related work experience.
• 3+ years manufacturing systems experience preferred.
• Certifications in maintenance, instrumentation, electrical systems, or related discipline are a plus.
• Experience in FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Practical experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with PLCs or willingness to develop PLC knowledge.
• Experience using JDE or CMMS; proficient with Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal/written communication; teamwork and documentation practices.
• Ability to prioritize maintenance and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Commitment to safety, continuous learning, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment supporting the Galaxy filling process and Mix, Fill, and Finishing complexes.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.
• Monitor lines during production; communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Review PM requirements; verify parts availability; complete PM on time.
• Build, rebuild, and repair machine assemblies for reliability.
• Initiate work orders and document breakdowns and repairs in CMMS.
• Review equipment trends to identify recurring problems and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot robots; investigate issues affecting output and quality.
• Communicate issues and status per Stop and Fix guidelines.
• Coordinate maintenance work for Galaxy process; ensure documentation.
• Share knowledge and train junior technicians on equipment and safety.
