Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Bremerton, WA is hiring a Maintenance Technician II to perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, its systems and program equipment. You will service pools, heating/AC, and associated facilities to keep the center running smoothly.

Ideal candidates will have five years of trades experience, strong organization and time management, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and diversity commitments.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or other specialty skill areas.
• Vocational/Technical certifications preferred.
• An intermediate understanding of buildings and the operation and maintenance of building systems.
• Knowledge of safe and correct operation of the equipment, procedures, and techniques to perform the required tasks.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of pool maintenance and operation, safety regulations and a pool operator’s certification (or ability to obtain one).
• Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, and workload coordination.
• Must pass background and reference checks per WA State Fair Chance Act.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Able to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on day one and other required training.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for the building, its support systems and program equipment
• Operate and maintain the swimming and hydrotherapy pools at functioning levels
• Operate and maintain the heating and air conditioning systems to ensure member satisfaction
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance repairs as needed
• Maintain product inventory listings, Material Safety Data Sheets
• Ensure YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
