The Village of Wellington is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in Aquatics & Sports Facilities to perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on a variety of machinery and equipment. The role emphasizes safe operations, industry-standard maintenance, and adherence to policies under general supervision.

Key duties include vehicle and equipment operation, preventive maintenance, recordkeeping, and readiness for emergencies such as hurricanes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; supplemented by vocational training and two or more years of technical maintenance experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and ability to operate Village-owned vehicles.
• Class A/B CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months when heavy equipment operation is required.
• FEMA certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months if assigned to Utilities.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles and equipment as assigned.
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and ensures safe operating conditions.
• Maintains task records such as work orders and timesheets.
• Responds to emergency calls and events as needed.
• Oversees work of others on specific tasks where applicable.
• Performs various repair tasks including minor electrical/plumbing and carpentry.
