Job summary

The Village of Wellington in Florida is seeking an intermediate-level technician to maintain and repair machinery and equipment across assigned departments. Under general supervision, you will apply trade skills to ensure safe operation and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities include operating vehicles and tools, performing preventive maintenance, keeping records, and responding to emergency call-ins for hurricanes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of technical maintenance experience.
• Valid Florida driver’s license; ability to drive Village-owned vehicle; CDL preferred within 12 months if job requires heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and various trucks and tools.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and be on-call for hurricanes or other critical events.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles, tools, and equipment as appropriate to the assignment.
• Performs inspection and testing as part of preventive maintenance and to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Maintains records such as work orders and timesheets.
• Performs duties in accordance with safety standards.
• Responds to emergency call-ins for hurricanes or other critical events.
• Oversees specific work of others when applicable to work order assignments.
