Job Purpose:
- To perform skilled and semi-skilled building and equipment maintenance and repair work at various Adams County Housing Authority properties. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building systems and providing a comfortable living environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in building systems and equipment.
- Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, property managers, and other maintenance staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and maintenance.
- May assist with groundskeeping and landscaping duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Two years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general building maintenance principles and practices.
- Skill in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
