Role Overview

The Maintenance Tech II is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures on CNC equipment, performing routine preventive maintenance, and working closely with the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor to execute work orders. The role involves reading schematics, using a multimeter, and conducting audits related to equipment and safety.

Work Environment

Onsite, University Park, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and set up robotics, CNC machines, vision systems, and other control-driven equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot control systems on plant equipment.
• Calibrate and repair robotic systems (Fanuc and ABB) and vision systems (Fanuc, ABB, Cognex).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize machine performance.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and contractors regarding maintenance issues.
• Maintain records of equipment and assist in managing spare parts inventory.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Assist in moving and installing equipment, including pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic connections.
• Design and program control circuits for P.C. controlled equipment.

Critical Competencies

• Certification in industrial maintenance or equivalent with five years of experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in programming Fanuc/ABB robots.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and electrical/hydraulic experience.
• Pneumatic experience is a plus.

Pay Range: $25-$29/hr, based on skills and experience.
