Job summary

Byron Wellness Community is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to help maintain the resident-focused environment and safety standards of our Indiana community. The role supports resident comfort and quality of life through hands-on building maintenance and preventative tasks.

You'll perform repairs, respond to work orders, and collaborate with teams to ensure a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained home for residents and families. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires basic communication and interpersonal skills.
• Requires ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building maintenance and repair projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues.
• Support life safety and emergency preparedness programs.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas as needed.
• Respond to work orders and service requests.
• Operate safely with tools and maintenance systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to support resident and operational needs.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician II, you'll help maintain our community while supporting resident comfort, safety, and quality of life.

Responsibilities Include

• Performing preventative maintenance tasks

• Working safely with tools, equipment, and maintenance systems
• Collaborating with other departments to support resident and operational needs
• Participating in ongoing training and skill development opportunities

Most importantly, you'll help ensure residents have a safe, comfortable place to call home.

Job Type

Full time available

Requirements

Every other weekend and rotating holidays required

Required Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of relevant work experience
• Experience working with individuals living with dementia, behavioral health challenges, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or other specialized populations.
