Job summary

Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa in Gatlinburg, TN, seeks an Engineering Tech I to support resort operations via maintenance projects, preventive tasks, and work orders. You’ll perform basic painting, plumbing diagnostics, lighting, TVs installation, and safety compliance while collaborating with leadership.

You’ll lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors, and use tools and PPE as required. A valid driver’s license and English proficiency are essential for daily tasks and guest interactions.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year hands-on maintenance experience in a resort or commercial setting.
• Must be 18+ and hold a valid driver’s license to operate golf carts.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Written and verbal English communication is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects and preventive maintenance.
• Perform basic painting, caulking, and wall repairs as directed.
• Conduct plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, showers, faucets, and sinks.
• Reset breakers, replace bulbs, and measure voltage with appropriate tools.
• Install/replace TVs and program remotes and other devices.
• Diagnose appliances and assist with replacements as needed.
• Assist with procurement and inventory to ensure on-site materials.
• Operate resort devices and software (HotSOS, etc.).
• Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and in person.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by management.
• Follow safety guidelines and identify potential hazards.
• Represent Westgate Resorts professionally in appearance and conduct.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by operations leadership.
