Job summary

Wisteria at Warner Center, a Continuing Care Retirement Community from Continuing Life LLC., seeks a Maintenance Technician I to maintain the physical plant and perform preventive, routine, and seasonal tasks on-site in Woodland Hills, CA.

Qualifications

• High school graduate. Technical schooling and/or training preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience with electrical, plumbing, and painting in a complex setting or in the current community's TDR program.
• Basic experience in logical troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and machines.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Passion for customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, service calls and emergency maintenance.
• Repair wall and floor coverings, plumbing, minor electrical work, appliances and equipment.
• Complete apartment turnovers: minor repairs, touchup painting and restore units.
• Maintain pools, koi ponds and water features.
• Paint and refurbish, simple carpentry, drywall repair and building upkeep.
• Assist residents with hanging pictures, lighting, thermostat settings and simple plumbing emergencies.
• Provide excellent customer service: greet residents, explain work, arrive prepared with tools and parts.
• Maintain cleanliness and on-call duty as scheduled.
• Train staff on safety items as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
