Job summary

Target is seeking an entry-level Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 at the Upstream Distribution Center in Suffolk, VA. The role focuses on maintaining automated material handling equipment, conveyors, and related facility systems to ensure high availability for the supply chain.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and work with both internal mechanics and contractors to resolve problems on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
• Basic AC/DC electrical principles and schematic reading.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair automated material handling and facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment (POTs, HVAC, compressors, etc.).
• Troubleshoot electrical & electronic circuits using multimeters and infrared thermometers.
• Read and understand basic electrical/electronic schematics.
• Use handheld devices and asset management systems to close work orders with data.
• Collaborate across levels of the organization and follow safety procedures.
