Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production by minimizing downtime and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. You will troubleshoot issues, run minor electrical tasks, and follow safety policies while aligning with Wabash values.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams; SAP PM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Basic reading, writing, and verbal skills.
• 1–3 years of related experience in maintenance or manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems (24DC, 120/277/480AC).
• Strong problem solving to identify root causes of breakdowns.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
• Must respond rapidly to changing, nonstandard situations, while staying safe.
• Good mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge; able to measure with tape, micrometers, calipers.
• Experience with SAP and SAP PM is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ladder logic knowledge preferred.
• 480-volt AC/DC motor controls knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support production by minimizing equipment downtime, providing prompt response times.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and planned production equipment repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform minor tasks on electrical components such as sensors, fuses, breakers.
• Follow safety policies and practices while upholding Wabash Leadership Principles and Values.
• The Maintenance Technician I position is expected to work 8 hours/day, including mandatory overtime and weekends.
• Ability to work on projects both individually and with a cross-functional team.
• Hours for this position vary based on the shift assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed or required.
