Job summary

Giti Tire Mfg. is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery used in the production process. You will work closely with the production team to resolve issues, perform preventive maintenance, and help maximize equipment uptime.

The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical foundation, ability to work independently or with others, and willingness to work flexible hours including overtime. Safety, 5S, and accurate records are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Experience as maintenance technician in manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and detail orientation.

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production process at Giti Tire Mfg. This role works closely with the production team to resolve issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure maximum equipment uptime. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production line emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and ensure safety.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and 5S principles.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
• Prior experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/walk/move about specific work area
• Lift to 75+ lbs. on a frequent basis
• Combination of office and plant-floor learning experiences.
• Exposure to industrial equipment, heat, and noise (PPE provided).
