Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Maintenance Technician - AVI on 1st shift to maintain and repair production equipment, including welding, machining, electrical and plumbing work.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend work, voluntary overtime, and shift premium pay for other shifts. A high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred, with 2 years of industrial maintenance experience and lathe experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency, required.
• Associate's degree in related technical area, preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the industrial maintenance field.
• Minimum 1 year of lathe experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical, welding, basic machining (lathes and mills) maintenance and service, including AC/DC drives.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment and machines.
• Sustain and record parts inventories and prepare a parts list for ordering.
• Prioritize maintenance jobs based on work orders by priority level.
• Accurately record work orders in the system and track progress.
• Troubleshoot machines to identify operation issues and repairs needed.
• Keep work and storage areas clean and organized.
• Install water, gas, air piping and electrical power when machines are moved or added.
• Coordinate with Engineers, Production Coordinators and other departments to support goals.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
