Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Maintenance Tech for the 3rd shift to perform maintenance on welding, machining, electrical, plumbing, and related systems. The role supports HVAC-controlled production and emphasizes safety, reliability, and timely repairs.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekend work, voluntary overtime, and shift premium pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Day-one eligibility for PTO and holiday pay is provided, with a stable, safety-focused team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency is required.
Associate's degree in related technical area is preferred.
Minimum 2 years' experience in the industrial maintenance field.
Minimum 1 year of lathe experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine mechanical, welding, basic machining (lathes and mills) maintenance.
Maintain AC and DC drives, and troubleshoot as necessary.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment and machines.
Sustain and record parts inventories and compose a list of parts to be ordered for the Team Leader.
Prioritize maintenance jobs based on work orders categorized as low, medium, or high priority.
Accurately record work orders into necessary systems.
Troubleshoot machines for operation issues.
Keep assigned work and storage areas clean and organized.
