Job summary

Oerlikon Group in Westbury, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to read blueprints, perform machine maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. The role supports Machine shop and Assembly with an emphasis on preventive maintenance and tooling development.

Qualifications include a technical degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and 2–4 years of maintenance experience. Knowledge of CNC/manual machines and cobots/robots is a plus.

• Familiar with mechanical tools, torque wrenches, bearing heaters; voltmeter, balancing and inspection skills.

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Westbury, NY facility. As a Maintenance Tech, you will be able to able to read blueprints and schematics, aptitude with tools and shop mathematics Be able to perform machines maintenance and repair. Be able to troubleshootand resolve machine operation (Mechanical/Electrical) issues with support if needed. With guidance, create tools and fixture if needed to perform maintenance. Knowledge on all manual and CNC machines maintenance including multi axis and/or Swiss. Understanding of automation and working on COBOTs and Robots. Perform and track a preventative maintenance schedule.

Your Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Equipment Operations production Equipment in Machine shop and Assembly.
• Perform maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance on all equipment
• Familiar with all mechanical tools, torque wrenches, bearing heaters. Also familiarity with voltmeter. Also with balancing and inspection skills.

Your Profile:

• Technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
• 2-4 years of experience
• Able to read blueprint and schematic, aptitude with tools and shop mathematics.
• Be able to perform machines maintenance and repair.
• Be able to troubleshoot and resolve machine operation (Mechanical/Electrical) issues with support if needed.
• With guidance, create tools and fixture if needed to perform maintenance.
• Knowledge on all manual and CNC machines maintenance including multi axis and/or Swiss.
• Does HSE/5S/Safety inspections and audits as requested.
• Develop processes and procedures for machine maintenance.
• Responsible to maintenance preventive maintenance in all machines and test equipment.
• Track and report all maintenance issues and order MRO.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is$65,000 to $85,000 annually.Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sicktime (exception for NY where we follow State law,)medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
