Job summary

Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep guest rooms, facilities, and equipment in peak condition. You’ll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair amenities, assist with plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical tasks, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Technical school training or prior hotel/facility maintenance experience is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to work weekends/holidays in a bustling hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair guest room equipment, furniture, fixtures, and common areas to maintain Hilton standards.
• Handle routine building maintenance including drywall, painting, flooring, and door/window fixes.
• Assist with plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Follow safety protocols, keep SDS files current, and maintain maintenance records.
• Collaborate with and train fellow maintenance staff; report major issues to General Manager and manage supplies.

What You’ll Do

• Guest Room & Facility Upkeep: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair guest room equipment, furniture, fixtures, and common areas to maintain our high Hilton standards.
• General Trades & Repairs: Handle routine building maintenance, including structural repairs, drywall, painting, wallpaper, flooring/carpet touch-ups, and door/window fixes.
• Systems Maintenance: Assist with plumbing repairs to prevent water damage, maintain HVAC climate control equipment, and occasionally handle basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, chemical safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures. Keep accurate maintenance records and ensure SDS files are up to date.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside and help train fellow maintenance staff, partnering with the General Manager to report major issues and keep inventory well-stocked.
