Maintenance Technician | Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting (Support plant operations through electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance in a fast-paced food production environment.)

Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM (shift differential offered)
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (shift differential offered)
Pay: $27.00 - $34.50/hr+ based on shift and experience
Role Summary: Randstad USA is hiring Maintenance Technicians for Multiple growing food manufacturing facility in Chicago Land area. This is a direct hire opportunity offering full benefits and long-term career growth. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting safe plant operations. Ideal candidates have food industry experience, are strong problem-solvers, and can work independently.
- 4+ years of experience in industrial plant maintenance (food industry preferred)
- OR currently pursuing a 2-year trades degree with hands‑on maintenance exposure
- High school diploma or GED required
- strong understanding of 3‑phase motor controls, AC/DC drives, and PLC‑based systems
- Welding and fabrication experience highly preferred
- bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment with minimal supervision
- Able to lift/move up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Must be flexible to work weekends or extended hours as needed
- Food manufacturing environment with variable temperatures (hot or refrigerated)
- Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and production noise
- PPE required: eye, ear, and hand protection

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks, including equipment rebuilds
- Execute PMs and document work performed using maintenance tracking systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics for troubleshooting
- Support plant operations by coordinating maintenance activities with production teams
- Order and manage parts inventory using Microsoft Office and internal systems
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace in line with GMP, HACCP, and safety protocols
- Communicate with team leads, supervisors, and the plant manager to report issues
- Perform welding, fabrication, and motor control troubleshooting (3‑phase, AC/DC drives)
