Job summary

Bell Northbrook is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support our flavor manufacturing plant by maintaining, repairing, and optimizing equipment. This role emphasizes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency on production lines.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting is a plus, and the ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with troubleshooting of motors and conveyors.
  • Experience with 110V, 208V, and 460V three-phase systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics and welding knowledge desired.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; work in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility for overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts.
  • CMMS proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
  • Diagnose operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
  • Safely install, modify, and upgrade plant equipment as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and report potential issues.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, and general building infrastructure as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs.
  • Use CMMS to document maintenance activities.
  • Follow safety protocols, including LOTO, Hot Work, and Electrical Safety Standards.
  • Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Provide backup support to other Maintenance Technicians when required.

Join Our Team as a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician in our Thriving Flavor Manufacturing Plant!

We are seeking a highly skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to support our plant operations by maintaining, repairing, and optimizing manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and general facility upkeep. This role is crucial in ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency across our production lines.

Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
  • Diagnose operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.
  • Safely install, modify, and upgrade plant equipment as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery, reporting potential issues before they escalate.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, and general building infrastructure as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs.
  • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Hot Work, and Electrical Safety Standards.
  • Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Provide backup support to other Maintenance Technicians when required.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (Associate degree in a related field preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting motors, gearboxes, sensors, switches, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Experience working with 110V, 208V, and 460V three-phase electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting (programming experience is a plus).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or HVAC is a plus.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities.
