Job summary

Indigo Manor Nursing and Rehab in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a proactive Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team. You will perform a wide range of interior system maintenance and repair tasks to keep the building safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Key responsibilities include inspections of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work; use of hand and power tools; documentation with CMMS; and collaborating with staff to respond to maintenance requests.

Qualifications

• We expect hands-on maintenance experience across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues.
• Experience with welding, carpentry, and drywall repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of interior systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure.
• Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment with tools like ohmmeters.
• Execute plumbing repairs and system maintenance for water supply and drainage.
• Carry out painting projects to uphold facility aesthetics.
• Operate PLCs for troubleshooting automated systems when applicable.
• Supervise or assist with installation of mechanical components while following safety standards.
• Maintain CMMS records for work orders and maintenance logs.
• Support safety by inspecting facilities for hazards and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Provide prompt maintenance responses to staff or tenants.

• Support safety protocols by inspecting facilities for hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations

• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and repair operations (MRO)

• Proficiency in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems

• Skilled in plumbing system maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques

• Knowledge of HVAC system repair, including diagnosing issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units

• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams effectively

• Experience with welding techniques for metal repairs or fabrication projects

• Familiarity with building interior maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, and drywall repair

• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters

• Leadership or supervising experience is a plus for coordinating team efforts during large projects or repairs

• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with team members

• Experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments is advantageous
