Indigo-Manor-Nursing-and-Reha is seeking a proactive Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team in Daytona Beach, FL. You will apply mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC skills to ensure safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces for residents and staff.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and record-keeping using CMMS, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proficient in maintaining and repairing building interior systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Ability to read schematics and manuals; perform welding and carpentry tasks as needed.
• Experience with CMMS for work orders and maintenance logs; ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of interior systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Perform repairs using hand/power tools and welding when required.
• Maintain electrical systems and troubleshoot with ohmmeters.
• Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Oversee painting and drywall tasks to keep facilities presentable.
• Operate PLCs for troubleshooting automated systems where applicable.
• Coordinate installation of mechanical components and ensure safety standards.
• Maintain CMMS records for work orders and logs.
• Support safety protocols and respond to maintenance requests from staff/tenants.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and operational tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our building interiors and facilities equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a seamless environment that supports our operational excellence and enhances the experience for all occupants. Duties

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building interior systems, including HVAC units, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and facilities infrastructure

• Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot issues efficiently

• Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment utilizing electrical experience and tools such as ohmmeters

• Execute plumbing repairs and system maintenance to ensure optimal operation of water supply and drainage systems

• Carry out painting projects including maintenance painting and residential painting to uphold facility aesthetics

• Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems when applicable

• Supervise or assist with the installation of mechanical components, ensuring compliance with safety standards

• Maintain accurate records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work orders and maintenance logs

• Support safety protocols by inspecting facilities for hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations

• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and repair operations (MRO)

• Proficiency in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems

• Skilled in plumbing system maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques

• Knowledge of HVAC system repair, including diagnosing issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units

• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams effectively

• Experience with welding techniques for metal repairs or fabrication projects

• Familiarity with building interior maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, and drywall repair

• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters

• Leadership or supervising experience is a plus for coordinating team efforts during large projects or repairs

• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration with team members

• Experience working within manufacturing or industrial environments is advantageous
