Job summary

Abacus Solution Group seeks a Maintenance Tech in Charleston, SC to maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing setting. Work hours are 7am–4pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime possible and benefits on direct hire.

Responsibilities include diagnosing equipment malfunctions, installing new machinery, performing preventive maintenance, reading blueprints and schematics, and upholding OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
• Experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools; diagnostic instruments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts such as motors, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to minimize downtime.
• Install and set up new machinery and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including PLCs, motors, and control circuits.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Assist with continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.
• Work with production teams to quickly resolve breakdowns.
• Industrial HVAC repair experience a must.
