Job summary

Abacus Solution Group is seeking a Maintenance Tech in Charleston, SC to maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a 7am–4pm, Mon–Fri schedule. Direct hire with benefits; pay is $25–$28 per hour plus overtime. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, repairing parts, and ensuring safety compliance.

The role requires reading blueprints/schematics and basic PLC troubleshooting. Industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
• Experience in industrial maintenance in manufacturing is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals; basic PLC understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective motors, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to minimize downtime.
• Install and set up new machinery and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including PLCs, motors, and control circuits.
• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Assist with continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve breakdowns quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Repair or replace defective parts such as motors, belts, bearings, valves, and sensors
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to minimize downtime
