Job summary

Reliance, Inc. in Cartersville, GA seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform advanced maintenance, support preventive maintenance systems, and ensure safe operation of machinery. You will troubleshoot malfunctions, repair parts, and document maintenance activities to keep production running smoothly.

You will work under the maintenance manager, collaborate with production teams, and uphold safety standards while delivering reliable equipment performance and uptime enhancements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Familiar with machine operations.
• Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• Experience in maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, blueprints, and layout drawings.
• Basic PLC knowledge (diagnostics, not programming).
• Experience welding, torch cutting, and plasma cutting (required).
• Proficient with electrical diagnostic tools (thermal, multimeter, ammeter).
• Familiar with hydraulic systems and able to use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance manager with any necessary maintenance tasks and support overall maintenance operations.
• Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) systems and help implement and maintain preventive maintenance measures.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using measuring and testing instruments.
• Repair and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
• Inspect parts to determine dimensional changes using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and adjust functional components as needed.
• Perform general building maintenance tasks as required.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Maintain and complete all necessary paperwork and log information into maintenance software.
• Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing information.
• Support production by helping reduce downtime and communicating preventive maintenance practices.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following company procedures, rules, and regulations.
