Qualifications

Job Details

Salary: $35 - $48 per hour

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
• Maintain or repair specialized equipment or machinery located in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, or factories.
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
• Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff to improve their skill set and knowledge of the machinery.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing setting is required.
• Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Understanding of using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot machinery.
• Demonstrated skills in electrical, plumbing, or other related fields.
• Strong problem-solving ability with the capacity to detect and diagnose faults and malfunctions.
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
• Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship.
• Valid certification to operate forklifts is a plus.
• Good understanding of basic math.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
