Job Details

We are currently seeking a seasoned Permanent Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be a part of a team responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our manufacturing equipment and systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, is able to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, and has a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, components, and wiring, and replace worn, damaged, or defective parts.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair PLC controlled manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• Perform hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs, adjustments, and part replacement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in PLC troubleshooting and machine repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair equipment.
• Must be highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be available for on-call emergencies.
• A degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance and certifications would be a plus.
